Welcome Back to Pave the Way.
In 2019, Wisconsin ran its first Melee arcadian. Now, in 2025, we’re running it back. Welcome to Pave the Way 2025.
What is an Arcadian?
An arcadian is a tournament open exclusively to players who have never been ranked before. This gives players who don’t go as deep in tournaments a chance to shine!
Arcadian Rules
- Only players who have never been ranked on a state or state-equivalent (CLM, etc.) power rankings are eligible to enter.
- “Honorable Mentions” who have never been ranked are eligible to enter.
- Players who have previously won a state or state-equivalent (CLM, etc.) arcadian are ineligible to enter.
- Players must have lived within Wisconsin at least 4 of the last 7 months. If you are uncertain of your eligibility, please reach out.

What is Big Brother Doubles?
Big Brother Doubles is a Melee doubles tournament where up to one teammate can be a previously ranked player. This makes for interesting doubles matches and gives ranked players more incentive to show up and support the tournament!

The Goodman Community Center’s Evjue Room, located in the Ironworks building. Spacious, well-lit, and with a charming industrial aesthetic, it has plenty of space for both competition and relaxation, including a projector. This is the same building where we hosted the 2019 Arcadian, just in a different room!
Parking
When navigating to the venue, ensure you put the address as 149 Waubesa St, Madison, WI. DO NOT search “Goodman Community Center” as it will navigate you to the wrong building.
Below is the entrance to the parking lot from Waubesa St. The parking lot entrance is indicated by the arrow. Parking is free.
