Magik4 Gaming’s The Hub is a tournament lounge located in downtown Milwaukee started by and for the local FGC community. We’re thankful and excited to join The Hub’s local event line-up alongside Sunday Night Fights and Thursday Throwdown (and many more), and we hope Construct regulars will feel right at home. Food & drink provided by the venue is INCLUDED with paid venue fee!

Monitor setups for all games will be provided directly by the Construct TOs and Magik4.

Format:

Round Robin pools format, top cut of each pool progress into the main Double Elimination bracket.

At 7 or fewer entrants, a round-robin tournament may take place instead of round-robin pools -> top cut double-elimination. In this case, set win tiebreakers are determined by head-to-head > game win %, with payout only being split in the event of a perfect 3-way tie.

Best-of-5 sets begin at top 6.

Sets should be played on legal tournament stages & rulesets only. Players who violate this may be subject to partial or full DQ.

Payout:

Payout is split among the top placing players at the following rates ($5 minimum payout):

<6 entrants: 2nd wins $6, 1st takes the rest.

6-8 entrants: 70/30

9-15 entrants: 60/30/10

16-23 entrants: 55/25/15/5

24-47 entrants: 50/22/12/8/4/4

Top 8 payout at 48+ entrants.

  • Respecting venue property is a must!
  • No outside food or drinks are permitted.
  • Excessive behavior such as throwing a controller, harassing organizers or players, or hitting venue equipment is not allowed and will result in a ban or other penalty.

Bracket starts at 7 and is over at 9. Stream setup is provided, Carroll also offers food in the PIT so if your hungry stop over and munch.

Your Wednesday Milwaukee local!!!

We currently feature Smash Ultimate but always happy to feature any other games!!

The Location is at Zocálo food park in Walker’s Point Milwaukee inside of “The shop” which is a little garage structure right next to the blue and red food trucks.

The venue has its own parking lot but it is not guaranteed that there will be spots available as there will also be customers and such utilizing it so please plan accordingly.

Please note that this is a public space, and we expect good behavior from everyone involved with our event in order to keep utilizing this venue.

SCHEDULE:

We’ll open up for friendlies at 5:30 and bracket will start at 6:30.

$5 Venue Fee // $5 Entry Fee per event

IF YOU BRING A FULL SETUP (Monitor, Switch with Ultimate, and a gcc adapter) we will gladly WAIVE your venue fee ($5)!!!

Brookfield Brawl

Hello! Welcome to the new and improved Brookfield Brawl! This is a tournament I plan on running every month! I want to make this tournament a fun and enjoying experience to both experienced and new players!

Details:

  1. Venue room is open at 4pm. Rivals of Aether 2 is at 5pm and Ult is at 6pm. Feel free to come early to play some friendlies!
  2. Venue fee = $5 (Please pay in cash)
  3. Prize pot fee = $5 per event
  4. Please pay at the venue.
  5. Bring you own controller! Those could be Gamecube controllers, Switch pro controller, Joycons ETC. (Bring you own Gamecube adapter if you like) There is no spare or extra controllers to borrow.
  6. Bring a setup! Must include a monitor or a small tv with a Nintendo Switch with a Gamecube adapter and have Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with all characters and DLC Fighters. IF YOU BRING A FULL SETUP YOUR VENUE FEE IS WAIVERED!

6a. For Rivals 2 setups please bring a laptop or steam deck w/monitor. 3rd party adapters are appreciated but optional.

  1. If you have a carpool of 2 or more participants your venue fee is waivered (does not stack with setup benefit)

Rules:

  1. Round Robin format for 20 entrants or less all pools sets will bet best 2/3. Top 2 move on to winners side bottom 2 are in losers rest of bracket will be best 3/5.
  2. 21+ entrants will be double elim top 8 best 3/5
  3. Players can either mutually agree to pick any of the starters (graphic below) or play rock paper scissors. Winner bans first, loser bans the next 2 and winner picks the final stage.
  4. Game 2 onwards both starters and counterpicks are available. Winner bans 3 stages. Loser of that choses one of the rest. Repeat the process until the best of 3 or 5 set is done.
  5. After the set is done please report the score to the TO

Payout:

Top 4 gets paid: 1st 50% 2nd 30%, 3rd 15%, 4th 5%

Rivals top 3: 1st 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20% (Payout will be rounded to the nearest whole)
